Employment Assistance
Finding and maintaining steady work can be challenging, especially when in recovery. However, having stable employment is a key factor in your recovery success, providing financial security, housing, and access to benefits like health insurance.
Being in recovery doesn’t mean you can’t hold a job, but we recognize that the job search can be difficult. That’s where we come in.
How We Support Your Job Search
Employment Preparation & Career Development
We’ll guide you through every step of the job search process. From crafting a standout resume and completing job applications, to submitting them successfully, we’ll support you along the way.
We offer mock interview sessions to help you practice common interview questions, ensuring you’re ready to present yourself confidently. We’ll also assist in securing appropriate attire for interviews and arrange transportation to ensure you can make it to your meetings on time.
If a criminal record is creating barriers in your job search, we’ll work with Second Chance or Felony-Friendly Employers who are open to offering a fresh start.
Housing Assistance
Stable housing is a fundamental need and a crucial part of the recovery process. If you're facing housing instability, we’re here to assist.
How We Can Help You with Housing
If immediate housing is needed, we can provide a temporary shelter while we work to secure permanent accommodation.
We’ll ensure you have access to meals while staying in the shelter, and if daytime shelter services are unavailable, we will arrange transportation to alternative locations offering lunch services.
If you're at risk of losing your current housing, we can liaise with your landlord or connect you to social services, housing authorities, and other agencies to help you find the support needed to retain your home.
Transportation Services
Access to transportation is essential for daily tasks, from going to work, shopping for groceries, attending doctor appointments, or picking up prescriptions.
When transportation is a challenge, everyday tasks can feel overwhelming.
We’ll help you find carpool options or arrange for a bus pass through public transit services to make sure you can get to where you need to go.
Food Assistance
If food insecurity is a concern, we can help. There are many available resources to assist you, including food banks, meal vouchers, and grocery gift cards. If you need help applying for government nutrition programs like SNAP, we’ll guide you through the process.
Let us connect you with local food banks or providers of hot meals.
Furniture & Household Items
Securing housing is a major accomplishment! When you move into your new home, you’ll need furniture and other household essentials.
We have relationships with charitable organizations and thrift stores and can set up appointments to help you acquire the items needed to furnish your new space.
